You would imagine by now that Halo would start loosing steam as most games do even before this point in a franchise but Halo has something special. It seems the developers are not willing to let the Halo fans down yet. So lets go over each aspect of the game.
The campaign- While the campaign is short on this game it is enjoyable and I always play it first to get a feel for the new weapons and to understand the story as it had progressed. The new inclusion of weapons and enemies freshens up the gameplay from the same old humans vs. Covenant battle from the previous installments.
Co-op- As you can imagine this game becomes more fun when you play co-op with friends and even more so when you get into the Spartan Ops missions and discuss the game with friends while mowing down some Covenent and Prometheans.
Multiplayer- I am guilty of being burned out by this aspect of the game because I got addicted to it and ended up playing a month straight. Even though there are only so many maps at this time they will soon release more and the new inclusion of gametypes and custom maps makes this the crown jewel for Halo 4. The only complaint I have of it is that you can more times than I would like run into a "NAT" issue when you are trying to connect to a party that is already in a game.
Overall I give this game an 8 out of 10 score for excellent multiplayer and decent story for the campaign.
Longtime Halo player since original Halo: CE. Story arc using Cortana's latency issue was effective, kept you interested.
would have liked to see more of the bad guy's effect on earth / UNSC. 8 levels was too short by about 2 levels IMO. One more level where the jerk UNSC commander eats crow would have been nice. they made him a guy you like to hate.
Legendary difficulty just right, not as hard as Halo 2's sniper levels of death, but some challenging levels.
Multiplayer made more like COD which was good. no firefight mode though? Keep spartan Ops, but keep firefight. sometimes you don't want a story, just kill grunts.
Face capture tech and level detail / screens best in the series. Ending not as bad as H2, but nowhere near Halo: CE / H3 homage type tension. Don't know if that can ever be reached.
