I wont keep this short and simple: this game contains 5 games in one, and it doesn't skimp on you either. There is the original Half Life 2 which took me about 10 hours to beat, Half Life 2 episode 1 which took me about 4 hours to beat, Half Life 2 episode 2 which was amazing fun and took me about 10 hours to beat ( i enjoyed every minute of it except for the mines in the beginning).
After you finish the half life 2 saga you can test your mind against the puzzles of Portal, which pits you in a series of physics based challenges, which i found rather addicting even though I personally have very little interest in puzzle games. Once your done with all this single player content there is yet even more to see and do with the multiplayer component Team Fortress 2. Don't let the cartoonish character model's fool you; this game is intense. With the various character classes how you play is up to you. You can be strategic as a spy or engineer, or you can jump straight into the fray as a soldier or pyro.
Any way you look at it this game will keep you occupied far longer than the countless other games that have been released lately, so if your a video game player who gets frusterated with plucking out the cash for a game that only gives you 10 hours of entertainment, than you may be in for a treat with this one.
This game merits the 60 dollars you pay for it. Right from the get-go you already know you have 5 games included, all of which are extremely high quality. Half-Life 2 is one of the best FPS games I have ever played. Utilizing a groundbreaking physics engine and a captivating storyline, HL2 (Half Life 2) and it's episodes alone merit a purchase of this title.
If that's not enough for you, then Portal will help. Portal is yet another groundbreaking title made by Valve. Portal is a puzzle game where you navigate through levels to the exit using a portal gun, which will shoot portals throughout the level. This new take on puzzle games kept me captivated until the end.
Team Fortress 2 is a superb multiplayer which is included in The Orange Box. Classes and teamwork are critical in achieving your objectives. You can't just charge out blindly on your own (although that is fun), you must rely on your teammates to watch your back. It contains a wide range of classes from a sneaky spy (who can camoflague himself to look like the enemy) to a pyro (if you like your adversaries thoroughly cooked.)
The games have very few flaws. Team Fortress 2 can sometimes have bad loading times and enemies in Half Life 2 have a bad problem of "popping up." However these minor problems shouldn't deter you from purchasing this great 360 title.
Let me just start off by saying....WOW! I've been playing video for over 20 years and I must say that Portal has to be the most original game i have ever played. I love everything about it. Yes, it may be a simple concept for a game, but its like the coolest puzzle game i have ever played. Even Half Life 2 with both episodes, are smooth and fun and in my eyes a more mature game than the Halo trilogy. Team Fortress 2 is just out right fun to play with a character selection and the amount of depth each character has, is just awesome. Fun fun game! Play it NOW.
