May have been great for its time...

To appreciate Half Life 2 you need to find a time machine and travel back 10 years. Playing it today is rather painful. You literally spend half the game falling from ledges, rooftops, etc. It may have been great for it's time, but that time is long past.

Not as orange as I had expected

I had waited quite a while to get my hands on a copy of "The Orange Box" for PS3, since it seems like everybody can't stop talking about how earth-shakingly wonderful "Half-Life 2" is. Well, maybe you just had to be there at that particular time in gaming history, because I simply couldn't get into it. I didn't find it as exciting as some more recent first-person action games (like "Far Cry 3", "Dishonored", or the Metroid Prime trilogy), nor did I find it as cerebrally interesting as something like "Portal". Speaking of "Portal", I was glad of the opportunity to play it here, although it wasn't nearly as awesome or as involving as its sequel. And "Team Fortress 2" was absolutely worthless to me, because I don't enjoy playing capture-the-flag with anonymous strangers online.

Of course, this is all just one man's opinion.

Just couldn't get into this game

I'm guessing you'll need to play through Half Life 1 to understand what's happening, because I didn't.

I like the concept behind Portal, but I'm just not interested in going through 1st-person puzzles. Just feels odd to me.

TF2 is good. They should re-release this on PSN with Steam sync as it's free-to-play now and much more advanced on the PC.
