Couldn't get WII Rock Band Guitar to work

I thought this would be interchangeable with the Rock Band equipment that I owned, but it would not recognize my wireless guitar or drums.

I have rock band and rented GH, but could not get the instraments to connect. is ethe rock band set compatable with GH?
