Improved experience, deteriorating track list

The overall experience of Guitar Hero 5 shows many improvements to the series, but I'm very disappointed in the track list. There are a few jems here, but many of these songs aren't worth even being played on the radio. Why does the game insists on including recent bands? Is someone paying them to include them in the game? There are some who deserve to be included like "Steady As She Goes" from Jack White's Raconteurs, but most of the newer songs are whiny and utterly forgettable. There are now 6 decades of rock and roll to pull songs from. They can do better than this.
Graphics are improved. Customization of your character is expanded. It is easier to set your bandmates for solo play, and easy for real people to jump right in with you. Unfortunately, the odds are that the songs you are jumping into are lame.
A couple of pleasant surprises: Dylan's "All Along The Watchtower." I didn't expect Bob's style to call for a GH treatment, but there it is. T-Rex is included with "20th Century Boy," and it's about time. Johnny Cash! How about that for a nice addition. Give us more of those and fewer of the whiny brat so-called alternative bands. Don't bore me with Coldplay. If not for their one song on the Garden State soundtrack, they wouldn't have a career. It's the classics that make these games. Learn that and you will take the lead over the Rock Band series. Difficult to do now that they have raised the bar with their Beatles game.
