When I see some games for the Wii, I think that they're "Subsitution Games" These are games that are subsitutes for other games that couldn't fit on the Wii.
For example, they didn't make Resident Evil 5 for the Wii, so they made Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles. A good choice.
They also didn't make Soul Calibur 4 for the Wii, so they subsituted Sould Calibur Legends - a very bad choice (I really didn't like Legends).
In this case, I get the feeling that since they couldn't make Street Fighter 4 for the Wii, we got Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus instead.
This game has the look and the feel of a Street Fighter game - from the nineties. Pick a fighter and go up against the AI or against another player off line (there's no on line features here.)
There's Practice Mode, Story Mode, Arcade Mode, Mission Mode and Survival Mode
You can also make a team of up to three fighters and go against the AI or another player's team of fighters in Team Mode.
But just like any other fighting game on the Wii, it's almost a requirement that you get every player a Classic Controller for this game.
One of a few complaints I have against this game is it doesn't let me use the eight sided stick on the Classic Controler - you can only use the four sided pad.
And this game does look dated. But most fans of fighters won't care much; they just want to beat up other players and the AI. This game does deliver on that need.
Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus is a definite rent, and some of you might actually end up buying it.
