Is Green Lantern for DS as bad as the "pros" say? Not at all. In fact, it's pretty fun. It plays like a classic Castlevania title, has plenty of upgrades for your ring and has some decent comic-page style cutscenes and very true to comic Hal Jordan lines. The control scheme is simple, so any skill level player can pick it up and enjoy it. The only two drawbacks to this game (hence the "8" rating) are the graphics (better on the 3DS) and the lack of replay with all your unlockable abilities. The closest title I can compare it to is Castlevania SOTN on PSP, since the level design is very open, but not as big or in depth as SOTN. The simple "A" double tap for any time flight is also very nice. Hopefully there will be a sequel or at least another game featuring more villain variety ( Red Lanterns, Orange Lanterns, Sinestro Corps), but for now this should sate the appetite of Green Lantern fans of all ages.
