the game is fun the construts are cool. but the computer cheats like crazy, i was fighting the purple energy queen and i was about to defeat her and i get hit with a invisable flying projectile. i didnt see it coming. i was killed 4 times like that until i defeated her. its cool if ur a green lantern fan but not worth the purchase. im sending it back, didnt even finish it.

i didnt know what to expect of this game, but i was a little surprised. it is actually rather fun and its cool how there is a nice variety of different powers. it's not boring at all, it's rather challenging, and worth a rental, possibly this small price too!

The two player cooperative mode is much better than the one player version. With the one player mode, you can get overwhelmed by the manhunters in spots and it is harder to divide your attention to complete missions. With two players, your partner can keep the manhunters at bay while you complete the mission priorities. I find this game's cooperative mode to be one of the better ones, as you don't fight over power-ups or anything like that, but truly compliment each other to make it much farther in the game.
The graphics are good, especially as you move between missions and the game play isn't just button mashing. Pay attention to the sequence hints to bring down the bigger manhunters.

Cutscenes and Settings.

While the game reflects some of the characteristics of the god of war saga style, the gameplay is continuously slowed down by the cutscenes, or in any instance the characters are talking, your slowed down and barely move. When playing in the the two-player mode, which is coupled into the campaign, the second players selections and progressive upgrades aren't saved. And when you starrt playing again the second player has to rely on the first players previous settings.

Sucks. Not just sucks, but super sucks. Really? Shoot the door "just so" to make it open? Because that's SO MUCH FUN. How on Oa can the game suck worse than the movie?!? Peeps keeps calling it a "GoW clone". I wish! This was a hackneyed, horrible nightmare, movie tie-in dreck worthy of a negative 3600 if that score were possible. How this got a 6.2 and Bloodstone got a 6.6 I'll never know, because .4 is a very small difference. Bloodstone was Awesome compared to this waste of time. Worst game I've played all year, HORRIBLE. DO NOT WANT.

I do not understand why this game has bad reviews it is great; especially for Green Lantern fans. Wether if you read the comics or just watch the movie or cartoons this is perfect.

God Of Lanterns!

Lantern War God? God Of Lantern War? God O'Lantern?

Any one of those names is basically what the game is about. The entire plot of the story is based after the movie and set mainly in space...something the movie failed to do. Making a great Green Lantern game would be combining the character with Scribblenauts where you can create your own constructs but sadly that's not the case here. Constructs consist of different variations of the same base weapons through incredibly obvious linear stages and minimal polish on stage design, making it the easiest platinum trophy to achieve EVER. Control schemes are slightly difficult when choosing different "Special" constructs while engaged in battle and makes you wish they had a voice command system installed to help you through. Voice acting from Ryan Reynolds is believable yet the other characters suffer greatly with the exception of kilowog.

If you're a D.C. comics fan these are easy things to get over but in terms of gameplay overall then it's all just mediocre and a C Grade effort.

It's a pretty average game and it's a complete clone of the God of War series. If you love the God of War series than you will take a liking to this game. The game is about 10 missions long and each is mission takes 30-50 minutes to complete. It's worth a rent if your a fan of the Green Lantern, God of War, and if you want some easy trophies.

The Angry Joe show is well known around the web... Someone should tell him about services like Gamefly!
he did a reveiw on this game which is fairly spot on...
In any event, what can we say about green lantern?
how about boring repetition! Like most cheap movie knock offs green lantern features insane difficulty jumps even at the lowest difficulty setting, and it gets boring eventually... After your 300th enemy of the exact same palatte swiped bad guy saying the exact same phrase you eventually get tired of it... I have a developed tolerance to boring games, yet even I got tired of it after a while... Movie license games almost never do well because they often have a limited budget, and a limited time on the production cycle...
This game was boring enough that Angryjoe made himself into a "RED" lantern... Yes, it is THAT BAD... So either try before you buy, or watch the Angryjoe show for the video review of this game.... The choice is yours! Then again you could do both...

This game was less than I expected. I was able to beat it on a weekend in about 8 hours. The game isn't anything new and can be frustrating at times when you get pinned in a corner and cannot defend yourself. The camera angles in some battles are horrible and I found the controls to be a challenge in the middle of battles. If you are a Green Lantern fan rent the game, if not try something better like God of War.

First, there are WAY too many cutscences in this game, but it is relatively fun to play and has a few cool upgrades....but it is REALLY short (about a 7 hour game in all) and nothing really stands out...I would say AVOID!!!

I LIKED THE STORYLINE ALOT AND I THOUGHT IT WAS A BIT SHORT BUT IN THE END IT WAS A GOOD GAME, NOTHING I WOULD BUY BUT RENT, DEFINETELY. AND ALSO...THIS WAS THE FIRST GAME IN WHICH I GOT 100% TROPHY COLLECTION, SO I WAS HAPPY ABOUT THAT.

So I bought this game for $25 at GameStop when they did the $40 price cut to $25. So I heard it had a God of War fell so I bought it before I had GameFly and I wish I would've waited for GF. And I'm a Trophy hunter, but I could'nt really get passed mission 5 because it was so boring. But I'm gonna rent it on 360 for the Achievements. This will be sent back within 2 days at best! The gameplay, Upgrades, etc. are boring and repetitive. You have to do the same thing to finish off every boss just about, definitely not like GoW so stop comparing it! Play God of War instead!

The best movie based game I've played...

Usually video games based on movies tend to suck. This is becasue they are a marketing after thought, and whilst this game qualifies as such, I was surprised with how good it was. Yes, it can be beat in a single sitting (I actually beat it in two, but thats becasue I started very late at night and got tired), but at the same time, it is very entertaining. Now, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't sugget buying it for $60, $40, or even $20, but it was still fun.

The Trophy bums will undoubtedly love to rent this title as it is fairly easy platinum, but average gamers will enjoy it too. Its a quick and easy break from the hardcore gaming... almost like watching a movie. And the real kicker? This game is actualy better than the movie to which it is a companion to!

Bottomline, any action gamer will enjoy this game for what it is. Its defintely worh putting on your queue and playing through in a day or two. And if you enjoy Green Lantern or DC Comic superheroes (whether you liked the film or not), you'll absolutely get a kick out of it.

I rate it an 8 becasue aside from its short length, I honestly can't find a problem with it. It was wicked fun.

Good Superhero Game

I am a big superhero fan, so I was very excited to get this one in the mail. One thing though is that this game is VERY VERY VERY SHORT. I finished the story mode in less than 3 hours. I played through again on hardest difficulty for all the trophies. So in all, I platinumed this game in under a day. If you're looking for a quick platinum, this is a good game. Graphics were incredible, everything looked great. Plays just like God of War too, which can be good and bad. Some parts were a little annoying but not much wrong with this game.

This game was fun. It was exactly what I expected. The trophies are very easy to get. The game play is very easy and they will teach you how to play clearly. This game is like god of war except it is not so violent. The characters are very weird and the enemies are very boring looking. What I really hates that you fight the bosses multiple times. Another thing I don't like is that if you put an easy difficulties it makes it really hard for you. The puzzles are really hard and it took me forever to figure it out. You should get this game, it is fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If your a god of war fan an who's not. Green Lantern is the game for you. I do admit its a cheap knockoff of the famous god of war games but it plays well. There all kinds of action in this game but not much of a story line. If your in the mood for a fast game that's all action try this game out. But this should be a rental not worth buying

OK, so maybe I am not the best player in the world, but this was one of the hardest games I have played in a while.
I have not seen the movie so I do not know how true it stays to the storyline, but I did like the storyline, it was basic and thinly veiled, but it was alright.
The game was fluid and had no slowdown in the action, the camera was good only a few times did it obscure the action. OK cut scenes and the sound was good throughout and load times where fast.
Now for the complaints. I found portions of this game really easy and some just seemingly unbelievably hard, the Queen Aga'po fights come to mind, I don't know why I struggled with the first one so much, but I had to try it several time before I got it right. The second fight she is freakin' huge as are most of the enemies in the game and I hate that, when games can't seem to come up with something new they just make it bigger. The enemies that are your size are way too easy except Queen Aga'po and that sucks too. The final boss was also too easy I passed him the first time through, with little damage to myself. Be very aggressive and you shouldn't have any problems. The game was also too short with no on-line game play and I was glad I was done, so I would not recommend ever buying this, but not a bad rental.

Just Plain Garbage

I tried, I really did. I have had this game for over two weeks and in between playing BF3 and Skyrim I tried to play through this garbage. But my efforts have failed. Today I put it in it's envelope to send back to Gamefly.

Don't let the offerings that this is an easy Platinum allow you to rent this. First of all to get the platinum you have to beat it on the hardest level which is not as easy as some make it out to be. But then considering the game is boring, the camera handles like something in your toilet? Leave this one alone. I rated it a 3, but on second thought I wanted to be nicer and so I rated it a 2. Yeah, nicer in hopes that you read this and get something else.
