Cooking Mama in a French Restaurant

Sort of.

The format is different from Cooking Mama in that you make each recipe from beginning to end without pausing between each step. The kitchen's sous chef gives you instructions as you cook, as well as supplying you with additional ingredients. It can sometimes be frustrating trying to find the correct instruction if you miss a step or forget an ingredient.

You receive a score for each recipe based on how fast and accurately you complete it. "Passing" is C and above. Anything below a C and you will be prompted to redo the recipe.

The storyline is mediocre, with puns and characters who are goofy and over the top, including a lady who lets her dog choose the menu and a harsh food critic who isn't as sneaky as he thinks he is.

My chief complaint about the game is simply how short it was. I completed it in less than a day, with only a few hours of it being devoted to serious gameplay. There are 21 missions in all, most with more than one recipe to complete. There is the option to go back and replay the missions separately to try to beat your prior score, but it doesn't add appreciably to replay value.

Bottom line: If you like cooking sim games, this is worth a rent, but it's too short to make it worth buying.

Ok, so the game seems fun the first few missions, then it gets harder. On certain missions you have to go so fast it seems almost impossible to do it. On certain ingredients, like mixing eggs, i had to mix so hard and fast for it to get where it stops, I felt like I was gonna break the touch screen om my DS. So not worth it. Very Very frustrating.

I rented the game because my mother got it, and found it pretty interesting. When getting it myself, I was not at impressed. I'm not sure if it was a glitch in my game, or maybe just me, but when I clicked "Career", I figured it would take me through all the missions, however it sent me to the very last mission, took a minute to do, then BAM, the game is done...
