The amount of monsters playable may be a considered record, more then 24 of them. Its biggest flaw are the controls: they could not be worse three points taken off and loading takes like 45 seconds its really annoying. Its a good godzilla game idea but the creators really should have paid more attention to the ripped off controls. :I
I have never played a previous Godzilla game, but had high hopes for this one. It has terrible graphics and the story mode is pretty lame. There is no clear direction of what you need to do to finish/win any of the game sections. My 5 year old was able to finish the entire story mode in a couple of hours. On several of the story-mode sections it was not even clear why he had completed a particular section or why he had failed a particular section. Without knowing the objectives it is hard to figure out how to win.
The graphics look like they took them straight out of a 15 year old game and just adapted them to the Wii. I would have been disappointed if I had actually purchased this game.
Overall, it was fun for about 3 days and then there was nothing new to accomplish.
Godzilla Unleashed strives to be a fun and exciting monster fighting game but does not quite do it. The graphics are ok but nothing like you would expect on a current gen console, the controls are pretty responsive for the most part however some moves like picking up an opponent and throwing them is difficult and you wind up just jumping up and down. Sound wise the monster sounds are good but the music is well not so good. This game would have really benefited from a better story line, the one here is pretty much bland and the same no matter which monster you use to play thru. The multi-player was pretty fun. All in all if your a Godzilla fan I would at least rent this game if you have others to play it with.
