ok so i bought this cause well i was at my grandparent house helping out with some stuff want gonna be home for a week so had nothing to do and i went to games stop and got this thinming well it will prob keep me busy for at least a few hours. i was expecting to trade it back withing a few hours but i played it and was hooked. first of all i love games that let u make ur own character. it helps me get into the plot. so yeah, turned this on and the first thing it has is a fully animated opening with this cool j-pop playing basically if u like anime ur gonna loove that opening so i was into it right from that. then u get a cut scene with some vital characters then u make ur dude or dudette lots of outfit hair and face choices no facial hair probably cause ur charcter is supposed to be young. if u ever played monster hunter games well it plays like that but u can just switch between weapons at will(guns, shields, swords) 3 types for each all with thier own strengths. for guns u can make ur own type of bullets to the point where they can do all kinds of stuff with it. the lpot is great u get sucked in u get to choose a voice for ur character but it only plays in combat and will come out randomely like "be careful" or "good job lets head to base" during cutscenes he is mute and kinda just nods and gestures but u get used to it. like all anime u got the immature lighthearted guy the sexy busty chicks ur really strong loner guy(hes awesome in this game no lie) ur leader/sensie mentor guy ur do tutorials(optional gets u cash and items and are so easy to do just do em they are like 5 secs a piece do finish) then u got ur first few storie missions where u meet guys then the lpot thickens im still not done with this but u will love this if u like rpgs with great plots and action packed gameplay and tons of customization. fyi u can change outfite and make new ones whenever u want so theres even more options after u8 start ur game
as a console gamer, I'm not particularly fond of handheld gaming at all. Infact, the only games I own for my PSP are console ports, such as: Persona 3 Portable, Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness, Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days and Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions.
Now that that's out of the way, let's skip to it:
I've played a handful of other PSP games, and usually their longevity is less than a week. It's not to say that Gods Eater Burst is without it's own fatal flaws, but I think it is one of the best releases I've ever played.
It does not possess a particularly amazing story, but the gameplay is quite good and I believe it is easy enough to get into, especially if you are a fan of the JRPG/Anime style.
While I'm not particularly fond of all the clothing options available, I am sure that you'll find at least 1 outfit that suits you just fine.
I think probably the biggest boons to this game are the understanding of Gun Weapons and the Bullet Editor. Throughout most of the game, if you do not understand them they're pretty useless with the exception of those instances where the enemy puts distance between it and you.
The game could also use some more variety in the Aragami Species, so it's a bit sad that the Pre-Order content featured some new missions and different Aragami.
And the last thing, I swear to god. There's nothing I hate more than wishing there was a freakin' R3 button there to turn the Camera with!
Other than that, I really see nothing wrong with the game and believe it's a very good release. I think the music and customization could have been a bit better, but hopefully D3 will grant us another installment with said improvements in a few years.

After all the sub par reviews I wasn't expecting to keep this game past a few days. I have about 6 hours into the game and it has gotten better, more challenging due to the better creatures as you gain rank. I am a big Monster Hunter fan and there are a ton of similarities between the two. GEB combines your three weapon types from MH into one: Sword (short, long, claymore), Shield, and Gun (blast, sniper & assault). So now all you need to do is concentrate on which weapon type and modifiers you want depending upon the boss weakness. If you don't counter their weakness with a weapon, you will probably not get a kill in the 30 minutes or less time frame. For most this will become an issue (oh no I have to actually think about what weapons and bullets I need to kill the creature?! I just want to spam the square button from a distance). I didn't find there to be too much dialogue, more than MHU but not as annoying as MH Tri, so don't feel this will be an issue. Going from the mission counter to changing weapons and items to the door to fight the mission is about a 2 second walk, much less annoying than MHU when you want to change equipment. Fighting in the beginning is easier since you will have help that does fight and heal you. If you want to take the time to learn how to combine items, farm for equipment upgrades, prepare bullets based on weakness and strategy, you will like this title. For non-Monster Hunter fans you will rate this a 6, possibly 7. For MH fans a 7 to 8.
