God of War Collection for PlayStation 3 Reviews by Gamers

Two of my all time top 5 games, remastered in HD. Nuff said.

It's been commented elsewhere, but the only thing approaching a flaw in the port is that the cut scenes are DVD quality, not Blu-Ray. Also, Kratos' shadow looks kinda weird on some terrain. Yes, I'm struggling that hard to find a flaw.

If you've not played the true owner of the GoW moniker (360 owners take note!), or even if you have, this is a must play. That a ~5 year old game is in the running for my PS3 Game of the Year says a lot !

If you've played the GoW series then you already know that these are two of the greatest games not just for the Ps2 but of the whole last generation. That being said if you haven't then you owe it too yourself as a Ps3 owner to purchase this definitive version and catch up on the tragic story of Kratos. Even if you have played both I suggest grabbing it just to replay two classics through new eyes.

I wont go into the story nor the gameplay because you can look up a review on many sites for the originals and it still applys to GoW collection. I will talk about the changes that have been made to the title. The biggest being that both games have been remastered in HD even though the box says it's 720p my television displays it at 1080p so I'm not sure if that's a typo or not. Still regardless both games look stunning and due to the art style and presentation stand toe to toe with any title out today. A weird but minor beef is that the cut scenes in GoW1 were not enhanced like the gameplay so they look pretty poor. This is a minor issue but one that does kind of dirty the package. Still GoW2 has true CG cutscenes so the issue is only with the one title. There are also some camera issues due to it being converted to wide screen format I only ran into it during the minotaur boss fight so it also is not a major issue.

A couple of issues aside GoW collection is a must have for any Ps3 owner for a budget price of 40dollars you are getting two of the most epic games of last generation. You owe it to yourself to play these brutal fun adult themed games especially in preperation for the finale game in the series GoW3!!!!
