Ok so let me start this off by saying I haven't completely played god of war 1 or god of war 2, I heard this game was insane. So I put it on my Q, I played like 20 hours straight and passed it. This might make me possibly want to get another ps2 (Mine broke a while back) but this game is by far the BEST game on the psp. It felt like I was playing a ps2 or next gen console, the graphics were beautiful, the puzzles were sometimes hard to nail but i got them and that was what made me like it more, normally I don't puzzles because they are too hard or too easy, these were just right, and it was needed since all the non stop killing would make the game dry. I think it is one of the best games ever, If I get a ps2 or ps3, I am assured what I am going to buy.

It's played on a smaller screen, but it packs just as much punch as it's predecessors. This game has everything the PS2 installments had to offer. The violence is abundant, the action sequences are bountiful, and the levels are huge. It is an action game, but for as much action as you'll see you'll encounter just as many puzzles.

You are rewarded for exploring and trying to destroy everything. The loading times are fantastic. The only fault I find in this game is that it's on the PSP. If you're anything like me the PSP's design will cause your hands to cramp long before you want to put this game down.

A must play for all PSP owners.

This game is very similar to the God of War series on the PS2. It is fun, graphics are great. It took about 6-8 total hours to beat this game. I had to switch to EASY difficulty a few times because some of the bosses were too difficult and there weren't many tips at all. I would recommend this game to anyone who owns a PSP or even a 1st game for a new PSP buyer. You will not be disappointed. Maybe in the future online gameplay can be added to this game to raise the replay value. I can't see myself going back to play this game again after beating the first time. Just my opinion.

This is a perfect translation of the god of war experience on the console to the psp system. i recommend playing on the new psp 3000 system. brings out much more color detail in the game, in some part i was mesmerised at how much detail is actually in the game. graphics are jaw droppingly good in a lot of areas, some definitely look very psp'ish, some look like the exactly like the ps2 (wow). very impressive. the best controls i have ever seen on the platform, extremely accesible. most of the hardest part require context sensitve button presses. the biggest problem is that it is very short, but it is on a portable system so that is fair. you don't want to play the psp for more than that unless you want bloodshot eyes all the time.

sound is beautiful, get good headphones for the psp or get the component/av cables for the psp.

will definitely consider buying it.

this game was great. it was a good story the cut scenes stayed cut scene and not just a few pictures with with voice over[i cant stand that].
great maps, great boss battles, the new weapons are great and the magic, the moves are great. its a all-over 10
a must play if you have a psp. especially if you've played the other 2 it helps understand the series a lot more.

god of war has always been a fantastic series. but this hand held ps3 game brings it to the next level. its all the blood gore and violence that you could ever want in a hand held game. ALL PSP GAMERS SHOULD OWN THIS GAME

-graphics:are great some of the best Ive seen on any hand held system. the colors and the great display of blood and death makes you feel like your at home and by home i mean Hades.

-gameplay:is very good with simple and hard combos
with some very challenging puzzles

-story:is good with many bosses but a little to short

definitely worth the keep it price. if you like blood gore and ripping off demon heads then this is the game for you!!

lets first start off with everyone complaining its too short and knocking points for that. ask yourself this how big is the average UMD? 1.8 GB is the average. how detailed and similar is this to the PS2 versions in the area of graphics and play? highly similar and if god of war on PS2 uses the average atleast 4.7GB on the disk id say it fair trade off. wouldnt we have people saying the graphics sucked but hey it was long as heck took me a month to beat it?? i loved the game though the puzzle were sometimes annoying until you actually just sit and think out what you need to do next and read all the hints the statues give you. i would say buy this game here on gamefly for 20 bucks like i did and havent regreted it.

This has to be the perfect rental game, great but very short. I finished in about 6hrs play time but enjoyed every minute. Would have given a 10 if only was a little longer. I am glad I didn't buy this game due to it's brevity. The up side to renting is you get a great game and can finish in a day and send back for another game. Highly recommended.

Near handheld gaming perfection

What an incredible handheld title, God of War is. Although the journey isn't long (took me 5.5 hours to beat the first time through), it's quite the memorable ride.

The first thing you'll notice is how wonderful it looks on the PSP - while it's an obvious step-down from its PS2 predecessors, it looks incredible on the gorgeous PSP screen. You'll hardly ever see the framerate dip as well. Kudos to Ready at Dawn for creating something so gorgeous.

If you've played a God of War game, you'll see the same kind of game here. You have upgradable moves, little puzzle areas, and epic boss battles. The game plays incredibly well... and when you're at the end, you'll be creating combo chain attacks quite easily and spectacularly.

So if you own a PSP and if you haven't even played a God of War game, you owe yourself to give this action game a shot. It's a short but memorable ride.

I love it, all the action and gore. And the disregard for human life, it's freakin sweet. I love mythical stuff, and mythology being the plot of the whole thing, that was just wonderful. I loved killing Persephone.

um that game is good i didn't like how the game didn't take off from where it left off on god of war2 and it was way 2 short and needs 2 be longer but all and all it was good hope they make a new god of war game

God of war has the most amazing graphics known for psp. The game has so many upgrades and weapons this game is so much fun that you keep playing so you should'nt only rent it YOU HAVE GOT TO BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God of war: chains of Olympus is the best PSP game i have ever played. I am a God of war fan on the playstation and when i heard they were working on this title for the PSP, i was so happy. I just got around to playing this game and here is my quick pro's and con's review.

Pro's:
Unmatched graphics on the PSP, you will be blow away

Sound is amazing as well.

Controls are as good as console version, even without the 2nd analog.

Camera angles are fantastic. Most games like this have horrible, annoying camera angles that will get you killed, not the case here.

Played on hard, and was almost a 10 hour play through, not bad.

A few cool boss fights.

Moves and combos are nice to look at.

Barely any loading times.

Great replay value with unlockables, challenges, a harder level after hard.

Cons:
If you play on medium, it is probably pretty short.

No online score updater or anything

Not enough boss fights, and not big boss fights like you see in the console versions.

You will use a lot of the same moves since they work well on most enemies.

Puzzles are few and too easy.

This game deserves the title of a God of War predecessor. The game play was the same and a new compelling story was added. This game shocked the living brains out of me. I agree with no doubt that this game is the best Action/Adventure on the PSP even if it was short. On the easiest mode the game took me 3-4 hours to beat. I can't believe how much stuff they can put into a game and made it seem like you played it forever. This game is a must buy for sure.

This game was fabulous for a psp game. I finished it in about 3 days of playing for about 2 hours or so. It was fun and exciting just like the rest. I can't wait until the PS3 version comes out. It should be pretty awesome.

This game sucks, it is a step back in the franchise. I have never really been a fan of most psp games, but I really had high hopes for this game, but it is garbage. I have never played a shorter game. It took me a total of 4 hours to beat this game. I shipped this game back the same day I received. Please don't waste a rental on this game just look past it, or better yet spit on it.

I have never played a god of war game until now, and its one of the best psp games i've played. From now on when someone says psp I will think about this game. It is unbelievably great. A must get for a psp!

Hands down, this is the best game I've played on my PSP yet. The visuals were great, the game play was awesome, and the story was something to tell all of your friends about. The only flaw I saw in the game was the load time during certain parts of the game. Even still, I give this game a SOLID 10.

Now I have to go back and play all of the other GOW titles.

the game play is just what you want out of God of War and if plays very well on the psp but....

the story have nothing to do with the first 2 games and leaves you asking yourself What The Toilet Mouth why would they make a differnt story it takes place after the first game i think? the reason i think is because u are not a god yet after the first game you become a god and when ur power gets sticken from you in the start of the 2nd its leaves you saying what the fudge.

Good game with excellent graphics and not a bad story line. This is defiantly not a kids game with some of the in game “side bits”. I am not happy with the limiting exploration capabilities but the graphics make up for it a little.

I was kind of skeptical about this game being on the PSP, but this hands down the best game for the PSP. You have to have it in your game collection, go ahead and buy it...I did and I am totally happy with the purchase.
