If you like strategy games, especially turn-based games, Gladius is a real winner.
This is especially true if you are getting a little tired of Japanese themed RPGs. with 20 minutes of clicking through dialog between fights and super-linear plot lines.
The story is still a little weak (think Lord of the Rings) but the characters are pretty cool and the dialog is very good. There were even a few cut scenes where i actually LOLed.
The strategy part of the game is very straightforward and has plenty of depth to make it worth replaying a couple of times, just to see the tons of abilities and classes that are available. New classes are being introduced throughout the game so you never really get bored of the fighting, even as the story seems to drag on a bit towards the end. Even some unique unlockable characters that have some fun abilities are available.
My only beef is that there are one or two classes that are very, very overpowered but even then there is a lot of variety to the different types of battles and many battles have special win conditions that add some spice and keep the uber characters from dominating the show.
