[The Good] Playing with the proton pack and traps was a lot of fun. Sometimes I felt a little clumsy with the multiple buttons needed to trap a ghost be generally cool. Also, the game really played out like a movie with the cast voice acting / dialog and supplying life-like character models. It did a nice job of pulling the storyline from the other movies and bringing about the back story of certain ghosts. Simply put, I felt like I was a Ghostbuster.
[The Bad] I thought Bill Murray's comedy was a little off character. He was close but it just seemed slightly off where I wasn't completely believing this was the Peter Veckman of old. The dialog between the Ghostbusters and the "Rookie" often left me feeling like I was much smarter or experienced than them. Not very believable from a character standpoint.
Lacks co-op play which could have really boosted fun.
I wanted to see more depth around impact of destroying property, or not, with the proton stream. The game offered lackluster unlockables and felt like the switching between the PKE Meter and Proton Pack was a tad bit sluggish.
I also wanted to see more action with the different streams. I think the slime tethering could have been fun just to do goofy things with and also didn't think the there was a great deal of upgrading them.
[The Ugly] WAY TOO SHORT.
"Dying" in the game is awfully clumsy. When the Ghostbusters are incapacitated, they just go ragdoll. There is 0 realism in falling down. Also, the game felt like it was entirely unbalanced in being saved. I felt like I spent a TON of time saving everyone else just so they would stand next to me for 20 seconds without making an attempt to save me and then ultimately the mission would fail. If they make a second game, I really hope they fix this.
The checkpoints were often horrifically placed. I would fail a mission several times and have to go through lengthy loading and a dialog sequence over and over again until i got past a point.
Overall this is a good game. The looks are very good and the levels are fun to go through. You don't have to be a fan of the movies but its to know the background of the characters. Yes it takes a while to get the ghosts, especially the bosses, but the time is definetly well spent. The difficulty is very good, some levels taking a few tries to win. The game is very fun and I would reccomend it to anyone looking for a something to keep them busy for a few days.
