Ghost in the shell is a game with quite a few problems. The biggest of which are the controls. You use the analog stick to move and the four face buttons to aim. At the best of times this works ok and at the worst of times it will make you want to cry. Thankfully the game has a lock on feature that makes shooting much easier and more enjoyable, though it does feel a bit cheap. The games levels feel a bit rushed like there wasn’t as much thought or planning put in to them as there should have been. That’s not to say they can’t be fun. But they will leave you with the feeling that they could have been much better. I’m sorry to say that the game doesn’t have much challenge to it. It would be pretty easy to get through the game with just a couple of deaths. The game tries to shake up the FPS game play by giving you a Tachikoma to order around( For the non GITS fans a Tachikoma is a mini tank that has a IA in side it). The orders you can give are pretty simple things, like kill everything or hold your fire. You can also pick which weapons your Tachikoma has equipped before each level. If you find yourself running low on HP you can hop in the Tachikoma and drive it around using the weapons you equipped it with. Ghost in the shell has some very pretty graphics for the PSP too. the sound is very good as well all of the voice actors from the show do the voices for their characters. The best thing this game has to offer is its story. The Ghost in the shell game does a really good job of making you feel like you’re watching an episode of the anime. The storyline feels just like the type of thing you would see in the anime series. The dialogue isn’t quite as good as the anime but it isn’t that for off either. Ghost in the shell is a game that fans of the anime should enjoy. But if you’re not a fan of the anime you may want to pass this game over for one of the PSPs other FPS.
