I haven't dug much into multiplayer yet so most of my commentary is on the campaign. This campaign was the weakest of the 4 games by far. The most irritating change up is the constant stopping for your "3 star" ranking after every small section. This gives each of the 6 campaign levels no sense of continuity or design. It feels like you're just playing a set of multiplayer maps, each with a rotation of modes. Most annoying is that there is no boss fights until the end - and even that one was far from epic. None of the 'acts' end with any kind of climax or great moment that changes up the gameplay. There's no big monsters to fight, no collapsing buildings, no giant worms swallowing you. Just one map after another that go back and forth from light-defense mode to "kill everything" mode. Furthermore, there is almost no story to the entire campaign. Nothing interesting or essential is added to the GoW universe - much in the way that most expansion packs don't wan't to do anything that drastically changes the overall plot. The "Aftermath" mini-campaign that gets unlocked is ACTUALLY BETTER than the main campaign and feels much more like a true GoW experience. Overall, a lazy attempt to take what SHOULD have been a DLC pack and dress it up as a full game and sell it for full price.
What else can i say about this game other than it's pretty freakin awesome. I enjoyed the last GOW game, but this one pleasently blew it out of the water. There are a few glitches in the game play, but certainly not enough to lower my rating that's for sure.
The graphics are great, other than a few glitches in the gameplay it's pretty good. I like the storyline alot.
I played this game for 2 hours right out of the envelope which is always a good sign.
This game is a definite good rent, i would buy it if i didn't just buy The show, but i will keep it for a while because it's that good.
If you liked the last GOW game, your gonna love this one. Enjoy
I was VERY disappointed to see HordeMode get done away with but the campaign is pretty fun with the new random enemies spawn system. co-op campaign with friends and the declassified missions spice things up
multiplayer im not crazy about, feels too arcade-y. but if YOU like it, cool
summary: definitly fun as a rental but they'd have to bring back horde mode for me to BUY it
