A precursor to Red Dead Redemption

Please take into consideration this game is from 2005, so you'll have to anticipate extremely outdated graphics, sound, and gameplay. With that said, my review is based off it being from 2005.
Gun is a good (but short) western third person shooter/action adventurer, and it reminds me of Red Dead if it were released in 05. The wild west is just being civilized, and everything you'd expect in a WW game is here, such as: Native Americans and white men killing each other, territory disputes, gunfights, showdowns, scalping people, mastering the 6 shooter revolver, rifles, cheating at poker tables, saloons, wwhore houses, hunting, and horseback riding/fighting.
Just like Red Dead, Gun contains some RPG elements like upgrading your character and completing various side quests. You'll travel to different towns by horseback and basically complete missions with each town. You may need to be the sheriff for a day and keep peace, or recover a package, or travel to the next town for a mission. You'll get money and stat builds for completing these.
Gameplay is nothing new. You can aim down some sights, you have a pistol, knife & hatchet, rifle, shotty, and cocktail molotovs. You can enter slow mo (quick sights mode) by pressing RB and this allows you to flick the LS in a direction to easily pick off guys. Master this and you'll take down an army by yourself. It was fun for a few days but Red Dead did it all and did it 100 times better.
To wrap up, Gun is an excellent rental for a few reasons. It's a decent game, but has no replay value since there is no co-op or any online play. Once you beat it you'll be done trust me. And it's also extremely easy to get 75% of the achievements if you want those.
