They fight for freedom whever there's trouble G.I. Joe is there - and you can join the fun - sort of - as they take on the powerful forces of COBRA.
G.I. Joe is a shooter and nothing more than that. You get mission after mission of you blasting bad guys, blowing up vehicles, and destroying several other targets as you try to foil COBRA's plan for wold domination.
That's just about it. See bad guys, shoot bad guys by holding down the B button until they die or blow up, dodge their attack, and move on to the next batch of bad guys. Repeat until you get to the end of the level.
You may have to hold down the A button to acess panels, or blast bad guys with vehicles or an orbiting laser. But you'll be mostly running and gunning the bad guys.
With each level completed, you get a score and G.I. Joe emblems based on that score. You use those emblems to buy other characters you free during the missions.
Then go on to the next mission and do it all over again. If you don't like this type of game, then stay away from G.I. Joe the video game.
For me, G.I. Joe, the videogame's biggest flaws are in a few tech issues. First, the fixed camera. It makes it hard to find out which way to go, and it can hide some bad guys who are lucky enough to sneak in behind the camera.
Then, there's the lock on; it likes to target harmless boxes rather than the guys that are shooting at me. Sure, I can adjust the selected target, but why should I constantly have to do that?
The game's got some length to it - about six hours to get through all the missions. And it's a lot of fun to play with a buddy in two player co op mode.
Also, fans of the cartoon will want to find out which charcters they can play as in the game.
G.I. Joe is a better than average movie title based game (that's not saying much), but the fixed camera, the mindlessly basic gameplay, and the flawed lock on system takes some of the enjoyment out of it. It's fun, but not worth $50. RENT IT.
OK i have to say it was a good game, but its has a couple of flaws. Like a l0ow health bar, bad weapons, Long boring missions, and easy bosses. there's no point to play an easy game because you beat the game faster. Its pointless.
But it was good so i would suggest getting this game.
I say, as a true GI Joe fan this game did nothing for me. It was not a Wii game. Meaning it did not use the advanced controlls that the Wii is known for. This game had an okay story line but jumped around alot and was nothing of a challange.
I gave this game a 6 as it had okay graphics okay story line, just not what a Wii game is capable of
No real strategy needed, just point and shoot at anything that moves. I do like how you really don't die, but just 'rest' for a moment and all is okay. A bit unrealistic on that point, but if I kept dying and having to restart the level then I'd be unhappy too. I've never been a real GI Joe fan, but the game was good enough that I understood what was going on and it was easy to pick up the story.
Graphics are a bit dark, but you can increase the brightness so it is better. You can switch back and forth in between characters during the game play. I think it would be more fun if I played it as a two person game
I guess I'm looking for a point and shoot game for the Wii like Doom on the PC. That was a great game! I have to say I enjoy the Lego games much more than this one.
