Game Description
Airplanes are a way of life in islands of the South Sea. People fly for business, for adventure, and just to hop from island to island. When air pirates swoop in to prey upon the frequent island flyers, something must be done. The government calls in the best pilots in the world and forms the Air Patrol Association, whose mission is to rid the skies of the evil-minded menace. Freedom Wings features an innovative combat system that allows beginners to get AI assistance, while experienced throttle jockeys can take full manual control. Choose from an array of combat-ready aircraft, add upgrades, complete missions, and fly against friends in four-player dogfights.

The best way to describe this game is as a flight simulation/strategy game. When your in manual mode you have total control of the plane.
