Forza Motorsport for Xbox Reviews by Gamers

For those looking for a great racing game on the Xbox with great realism, Forza Motorsport delivers! I'm sure you've heard it time and again that it doesn't compare to Gran Turismo 4 on the PS2 as far as realism, however having played and now owning BOTH games, Forza definately comes in at a VERY close second while doing a few things better than GT4.

The selection of cars is great, providing all the popular cars.

The level of car modification is excellent beating GT4 by going beyond just suspension, transmission and rear wing settings as Forza also has engine swaps, realistic descriptions of all the modificications and for you tuner fans, body modifications, paint and graphics.

The AI is superb and can be really difficult and frustrating at times, so that's a definate plus.

The graphics are better than GT4 in my opinion especially when hooked up to an HDTV set at 1080i.

Both GT4 and Forza have digital surround, and both have great soundtracks, with Forza also alowing a custom soundtrack from your Xbox hard drive.

Between this and Rallisport Challenge 2, the best and most realistic racing games on the xbox. Now, if only it had a Logitech Pro wheel like GT4 does it would have gotten a 10.

...just buy it. I kept this game for one day, and knew I couldn't get far in the game at all (too many cars, too little time!), so I just put it back in the mail! I'm just going to buy it.

Finally, there's a racing simulation game that rivals the Gran Turismo franchise. There are lots of cars (perhaps not as many as GT), lots of tracks. The gameplay is similar to GT, which makes sense since they're both simulators. Damage in this game make it more realistic. Added bonuses include the ability to modify your car(s) and actually see/hear the difference during racing, unlike GT, where performance is only modified. Also, think of Need For Speed Underground. You can add vinyls/decals to your ride, body kits, window tint, rims, etc. which add to the "Rarity" of the car. Don't expect it to play like an arcade racing game, where you can easily stay on the track and when you don't, can easily get back on without losing speed. Make sure you control your accelaration and braking, because you can't slam on either and expect to win a race. If you're a simulation racing game fan, this game is a keeper. That is all.
