Fishing is not an easy sport to capture in a video game. Its either very simplistic and arcadey, or very realistic and boring. This is the first fishing game that actually manages to be both realistic and fun. Dont let the cartoony visuals fool you, this is a very deep fishing game, with lots of things to catch, and activities to do. You have an entire island to explore, and anywhere you see some water, you can try fishing there. From fishing off the dock of a tropical ocean, to freshwater lakes and even ice fishing on the mountain, its all there for you. The challenge comes in finding the right bait and lure for each location. I thought there werent anymore good Wii games, but this under-the-radar game really surprised me at how fun it was, but also how well the fishing action is presented. Extra credit is required for how well the fish are detailed. I recommend paying the extra $10 for the fishing controller. Once you manage to get it set up (not easy, by the way), it makes the fishing all the more interactive. A definite must-buy for fans of fishing, and I also recommend it for anybody that wants a peaceful experience. Hey, sometimes you gotta take a break from Call of Duty and Skyrim.
