Look iv'e played many wrestling games since the original Pro Wrestling on the nes, but this is the first time in a while iv'e had so much fun in a wrestling game since wrestlemania 2000 and wcw vs. nwo revange on the n64 days. I'm not saying this game is intended for all wrestling fans. This game is only for hardcore fans or old-school gamers that use to watch wrestling throughout the 90's (wcw and wwf era). Now you may notice that the graphics may look a bit outdated but that is how the fire pro series is suppose to look, it is like saying why isn't SNK's metal slug in 3d. With that being said the gameplay is something that even todays wrestling titles cant accomplish (Raw vs. smackdown series), there is so much depth to this game that I cannot describe it all in this review. Though I must admit the controls can take a while to get use to. Also for those concerned about the wrestlers you can just simply download wrestling packs on the internet that will remain all your wrestlers and provide with an additional 200+ wrestlers (you can view it as free DLC for the game that updates the roster), in the japanese version there was on option in the game where you can do this through the game itself but I think they excluded it in the U.S. to avoid lawsuits, so you now do it manually through the internet. I am happy that they brought the series in the U.S. since I liked playing fire pro wrestling d on the dreamcast.

So lately we've been overcome by wrestling games that seem more like foolish mash button parties than a fun filled skill fest with cool moves and exciting know hows. FPWR is one of those games. A game that may not ber to todays standards of what a game looks like in HD or in general, but holds its own weight with the amount of wrestlers, the caw's you can do, the match types and gameplay. I love it. So much so that I might as well keep the thing since i've yet to send it back! But before I get ahead of myself I'll just continue to have fun, I mean isn't that the point? I haven't played, well rather gotten to play, SVR 2008 yet so I surely won't judge but stay tuned.

Fire Pro Wrestling or fpr for short is a Japanese wrestling game. It is very fun to play and neat to watch all of the moves your wrestler does. However fpr does take some getting used to;the controls for instance can be hard at first but you'll get used to them and the grappling system too. It is definitely worth $20 let alone $12. If you are a fan of wrestling or just like fighting or rewarding games you should definitely pick this one up. I especially liked the high flying moves of the luchadors and the judo and karate moves of the black belts. There are many different styles characters and rings too. Also if that isn't enough you can fully customize title belts characters and rings yourself! Overall this is a great game despite its 2d graphics and old feel.
