First like to say that I am a girl gamer (mainly cause I sometimes look to see what a girl's point of view of a game is compared to a guy's lol)

Anyways I thought this game was very well balanced overall.

The battles are easy to figure out and I usually am able to end them within 10 moves or less. Leveling up is also easy to manage as well without making the game feeling too easy or it's cheating.

I absolutely love the cutscenes and really wish that there were more but because it's a handheld gaming system it's understandable.

As for the storyline: I'm a big fan of stories more than gameplay structure so this story disappointing a little bit because I felt it dragged on for the first 10 chapters and was kind of cheesy. Plus it's kind of weird to flip a letter around in a curse word so it took me a moment to figure out what the heck a "dastard" was. I like the story a lot more towards the middle however which is why I gave it a 9 instead of 10.

Overall, it's a very good game and if you like tactic games I'm sure you'll like this one as well.

I loved my Gamecube as expected. Something I wasn't expecting was to bypass my love for Mario, Zelda, and the rest of the Nintendo IP roster when I picked up FE: Path of Radiance. It took advantage of my common sensibilities. Sword beats axe - cool, axe beats spear, equally cool... and so on. Then you add in the grind of leveling up your characters with a max stat growth of 1 per stat, per level. I fell in love with the incremental development of my characters abilities and attributes. The well paced and gradual increase in difficulty level by level.

Then they threw me a curve ball.

Characters that I felt attached too? I wanted to succeed, I wanted to help them succeed in their quest, and I certainly couldn't imagine the loss I would feel should any man or woman fall during battle. The perfect blend of RPG and Strategy.

Skip forward several years to 2013.

My love of Fire Emblem has stayed strong. I've played Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn in succession multiple times, spending hundred's of hours of my life securing theirs. And then it happens... I hear tale of Awakening on the 3DS.

As a true lover of the IP, I did what any reasonalbe adult should do. I bought a 3DS XL and patiently waited for Awakening to arrive on the eShop for download.

It came, I bought, I conquered.

The story is again my favorite part of this game, followed closely by the battle mechanics and support system. I love pairing up my characters, watching their love blossom or just continuing to be awkward together as they reach marriage status. And the (Spoiler) kids from the dystopian future that come to help save the days ahead are welcome and wonderful.

If you have a love or even a like for RPG's and/or Strategy games, you owe it to yourself to play this and these games. Borrow it from a friend, save up some dough, or just relinquish the dough you have. This is worthy.

I am on my third play through and I can't get enough.

Cheers
