I don't care what the other reviewers say, this game (X, not X-2) is one of the best games out there for it's day. Sure, the graphics are a little dated, I mean the game was made for the PS2 for crying out loud. It is also one of the better FF games, 3 excluded, just because it is a relic of days gone by. I mean, back then, games were hard and currently, it just seems as time moves on, video games become easier and easier. Perhaps that was the problem with the other reviews, maybe the game was too hard for them -shrugs-.
Anyways, if you want to play a game with decent difficulty, great graphics (for a PS2), and one of the best story lines out there, ignore the other reviews and get this game.
P.S. It would probably look better through your PS2 instead of your Vita.
I rented this game for vita while playing through FFX HD on PS3. The cross-save functionality was really nice and having the vita copy helped me squeeze in a bit more playtime.
The game's good -- though the remastering is a bit uneven. Main characters look good but most NPCs look terrible. They just upped the resolution on the PS2 game when they should have fixed some of the models. Oh well, it's not a deal breaker.
Had fun with the game but burnt out on it before getting to 100% completion. The end game is quite a grind. End game EXTRA content, like the Dark Aeons, I mean. Just finishing the game normally is enjoyable.
For me, this had a lot of promise. Unfortunately the pacing was much too slow to make this very enjoyable. Standard aged RPGs like this can be fun but when so much of your time is spent doing almost nothing and it begins to feel like a chore.
