I've played every Final Fantasy, Japanese and English alike, and I can't say this is one of the worst, just play FF VIII for 90 minuets and you'll understand. Yes it's pretty. Yes it's linear. Yes for the first 25 hours it is very repetitive. And then it becomes much more involved, give it time, or don't. If you don't want change, then don't ask for it. Everyone criticized FF XII for being too free roam, and not linear. This is SquareEnix's first run at HD gaming, so of course they're gonna dump a ton of time into graphics, and sure we could have seen a variety of mini games, or towns....or whatever else people want to complain about. The matter is SquareEnix landed a solid story, good graphics, and addictive game play in it's first entry in HD gaming. I'm sure people complained about FF III ( or VI...pick your poison ) and we all know the mixed feelings people had about FF VII, but in the end Square, now SquareEnix, made a solid product. If you don't want to play a game you need to spend a lot of time to enjoy, then get a job.

Although this is a very good game with jawdropping cutscenes and gameply, the game is way too long for my liking. I guess I just don't like JRPG's.

Graphics: Some of the environments are beautiful, near seamless transitions from cut screens to gameplay, overall the graphics are real nice but I would not say they are the best on the 360

Sound: Good voice acting, some character's voices can be quite annoying though but hey, that's Final Fantasy. The background music is alright, there is one song in particular that I really like.

Gameplay: After playing for hours on end it starts to get old fast but is fun for the most part. The combat system can be somewhat hectic, which is a plus in my book, and battles can sometimes be difficult/frustrating. I have resorted to just running past enemies/mini bosses who I deem too much of a pain in the....I am playing on Easy and certain battles are still difficult, probably because I am not grinding, as I said, I'm just avoiding some fights.

Lasting Appeal: The story will keep you coming back for more, at least the story is the main reason I continue playing.
