Sure it's graphically very pretty, but when every battle feels like a boss battle, and normal humans have 10k + hitpoints where you have so few. Final Fantasy has really gone downhill over the last few years and I'm glad I rented this because if I had bought this I would be wasting my money. Square, if I wanted to play an MMO i would play an MMO, also how about we pay a decent writer or two so we have a story that doesn't suck?
I couldnt get into the story line and the game was alright but I didnt like the timer for bosses, if you didnt kill him fast enough he will mark you and if you dont kill him before the time runs out your dead
When I first started seeing trailers and reading about this game before it was out I was really excited. Amazing graphics, exciting new combat system. New story. I bought it the day it came out. Started playing and yes, the graphics amazed me. This is one of the best looking games out there I will give them that. The story started and... Well lets just say I knew I had made a big mistake buying it before renting it. The story could've been great. COULD'VE been great. The story is interesting, it really is, but the voice acting is just terrible. It's like they made this game for 10-15 yr olds. The lines are so corny that even a 12 year old would find them laughable. The main male characters in this game act like teenage girls. The main female character acts like a 30 yr old male army general. Then there's the "new exciting" combat system. Awful. Terrible. Bad. All of these words describe it. First off, you basically control 1 person now. 2nd, if that person dies, game over, even if the other party members are still alive. 3rd, The A.I. puts you in terrible conditions constantly by either healing the wrong person, attacking the wrong opponent, or moving you into the middle of a large group of monsters. The days of exploration are over. Just walk in a straight line to the next group of monsters till you get to another movie/boss. The leveling system seems like it would be almost impossible to cap out your character. What happened to this franchise? FF 7 and 10 changed gaming. They brought new standards for rpgs for there time. This game just fell flat on it's face. It's time for Square to go back to its roots. To what made these games great. I've always wanted them to remake the old FF games like 7,8,10 with the updated graphics better combat systems etc... But if this is what they would do to them I pray they never do. Great graphics dont make a game. If this is the future of FF games, count me out. It's the death of a one of the greatest gaming franchises ever.
