This game is amazing, the battle system, while not like the traditional FF turn based battle system, is fresh and exciting, I love the ff series and this is something new for all rpg gamers. Addictive game play and a very good story line(anyone who thinks the story is confusing must have a problem). A lot of things in this game are very different from most ff games, by that i meant mp being mist points and the different categories of magic like arcane and not to mention the change in the classic summons(no more ifrit, shiva etc.). While i didn't care for the change all that much, I still love this game and it does justice to the FF series. The license table, i think, is great but a little easy to fill(just time consuming). The quickening's are pleasing to the eye, while the system is luck based, it is rather easy to pull off a devastating combo (at least it was for me) if you have 3 characters in the party with quickenings. I wouldn't really compare this game too an mmorpg, the battle system is a little like FFXI but not enough to label it as an off line mmorpg. Great story, terrific battle system, memorable characters and excellent graphics. If you do not own this game then i suggest you go out and buy it, it's worth every penny and you'll be busy with the 100+ hrs of game play. I give it a 10 and would like to thank square-enix for another legendary rpg.

FF Continues To Improve

This is definitely worth renting if you are a fan of RPGs and more so if you are a Final Fantasy fan. The graphics are spectacular as always and the new combat system rids of the old random encounters along with its load up times that can become irritating when you are trying to get from point A to point B. The combat system is similar to that of Final Fantasy Online. A new skill chart allows you to allocate points to learn new skills and spells and to equip weapons and armor thus making it possible to create a party to your liking. The story line is a nice change of pace from the generic "save the princess and save the world theme." This is a game worth your time.

Im not that far in the game, but I already love it. The battle system is way different, more like that of FFXI. Still sick though.
And they have something alot like the sphere grid from FFX.

Basically, any Final Fantasy fan...wait...no...any RPG fan will love this new addition to the FF series. Good job Square Enix.
Yeah, it is different, but just keep playing past that, and you will love it
