Ok, so here we go guys. Final Fantasy fan boy to the rescue. (I hate 13 though for the record) Enough of that and onto the epic quest of Dirge of Cerberus. This game has all my favorite elements all wrapped up in 1 game. RPG leveling up, world saving hero, hot japanese chicks (Yuffie mmmmmmm yum), and on top of all of it, we have a shooter to boot which is my other favorites. (RPG and Shooter fan... hmmm ironic much?) This game ( like most RPG's) offers LOADS UPON LOADS of secret content, side quests, extra (useless but fun none the less) missions. There is so much to do in this game you can literally beat it 8 times and still not get bored of it which is a very rare quality in a video game. The only others I can compare to in long lasting appeal are the old snowblind and blizzard games like champions of norrath and baldors gate dark alliance. Also the presige systems in the COD games also compare in long lasting appeal. I actually didn't even want to give the game back because there is soooooo much stuff to do in the game. The shooting element of it isn't as great as what a shooter would expect but that is made up for many times over with the fairly indepth weapon customization system, the sweet AR$3 music which is extremely engaging especially when you have on turtle beaches :) like i do. Still on the music, I found myself so pumped on certain parts all throughout the game and it wouldn't have been the same without the music and awesome sound effects. The graphics are better then you'd expect from a ps2 game but not immaculate...... until the cinamatic cutsequences (mmmmm yuffie mmmmm tifa) (cloud your so ba its rediculous) oh and by the way cloud could have definately taken that crimson whatchamacalher... those that have played the game know who I'm talking about. Last point which is a negative is that the graphics engine isn't always smooth and sometimes things kinda robot twitch along the screen. Not often does that happen however and gameplay far makes up
I could go on and on about how epic this game is but the title pretty much sums it up.Great graphics, good sound and awesome gameplay. Although Final Fantasy 7 fans may be a bit disapointed that the game is centered on Vincent Valentine, a minor character in the game. I recommend that fans of Final Fantasy should definetly give this game a try.
