These games may have been created more than a decade ago but, there still as good as back when they saved Square from certain death all those years ago. Now, you can re-experience the games along with updated graphics, extra cutscenes, and extra dungeons.
STORY:
The games` stories aren`t much but, you can`t count it against them for the time they were created. The NES era!
GAMEPLAY:
These games are RPGs done in the oldest style which is a typical turn based battle format with dungeons and towns to explore which you reach on an overworld map. On the overworld map, you will run into random encounter monsters. Even though we have definitely seen this format before, anyone who hasn`t experienced these games yet is really missing out!
LASTING APPEAL:
This game has very good lasting appeal. Because there are two games and each takes around 25 to 30 hours and they both have a bestiary which is a book which keeps track of all of the monsters you have encountered. You can try to complete your bestiary for both games by encountering every monster in each game.
These games are great and should be picked up by any RPG or Final Fantasy fan. However, if you picked up Final Fantasy Origins for the PSX, you may not want this game but, if you loved it, you will probably want to go through the extra dungeons which pose quite a challenge.
Overall: 9/10
