Great idea, but maybe not the best execution

I really do like the idea of the DS and Wii working together. A big part of the charm for me with the original Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles game was the interaction between the GBA and the Gamecube. I was really hoping we'd see something like that again with the Wii and DS, especially since they're both wireless devices, so it should be easy. The result with Echoes of Time is really kind of poorly done. While it's novel that we can get the systems to work in tandem and communicate with each other, I think the only thing that trying to execute the game on both systems accomplished was to diminish the Wii version. I was hoping for an ability to import characters between the Wii and DS, but lacking that ability, it seems the only reason to get the Wii version of EoT is because you don't have a DS and want to play with your friends that do have DSs. If you like FF:CC, certainly try this out on the DS, but the Wii version doesn't really add anything.
