Well the first thing I looked at in this game was the achievements. I was hoping it might be the same easy 1000 points as last time, but no dice. The graphics are beautiful and the game play flawless. In my opinion, all the changes that were made are for the better. I believe this game is either a renter or a buyer depending on your fascination with the boxing genre.

First of all, everyone that gives this game a bad rating because you suck at the game should leave your reviews to yourself and just rate the game. With that said, I'll begin my unbiased review on the game.

Fight Night Round 4 is a major improvement from the last in every department. The graphics on an HD TV are heavenly and the career mode is far from being tedious like its versions before. The customization of everything from ring entries to what color shoe strings you want are an option. You can even come out to your own music on your xbox, although it can barely be heard over everything else.

On the other hand, the controls are now somewhat familar. Instead of moving the stick any-which-way and putting together combos, actual stick movements are needed. If you have ever played Skate 2, you will know what I mean.
The training in career mode is the most frustrating thing in the game. Some are easier to catch on to than others.

Best Boxing Game Ever, But..

This is the best boxing game ever, but still leaves a lot to be desired. Seems like they want to make the game harder, and more complex instead of just trying to make the game more fun and not carring what that brings with it (like NHL 09 has the same defeat). Also the online play is rather meh, if you play people with not that great internet, your fighting experience will be garbage and it will be a whole fight or none-stop jabs without any strategy. It's the best boxing game, but not close to one of the best games to play of any genre. If you have little cash, don't buy this game unless you're a hige boxing mogul, the new career mode isn't anything spectacular. I just think it's a small pick me up from Round 3, a dress up kit if you will for this year.

For a game that revolves around a career mode (forget the specific name they gave it), it seems that they need to do more innovation. Also this game needs a good tutorial for people who don't play fighting games all the time, better to make a game for the masses than the people who bought and played Round 3.

Rating: 7.7 out of 10 (score of 10 based off of MGS4).
