Ever since the 1st Fight Night was released I've been hooked. The method of which you swing punches. The style involved (although always too hip-hop for my liking.) The increasingly complex graphics across all systems. and just how fun the games have always been. This one takes the belt!
This was the game that made me get an Xbox360. Most other games on the 360 thus far seemed to be a sloppy port of something already released...just looking a little better (granted the sports games do look quite a bit better, but at the cost of half the gameplay.) I was pondering getting one since there release.. but no games jumped out at me until this was released.
It was the slow-motion replay that got me...seeing the guys face ripple as your glove impacted with it stunned me. If there is any game that shows off the 360's power it's this one hands down! Controls are spot on, Graphics are intense and realistic. The sounds are stupendous as well.. just about everything about this game is fantastic. The Loading is a bit long though, and some of the rag doll physics are STILL a little wonky. Normal difficulty is too easy for the Pro's in my book. But, those are minor gripes that don't tarnish this games phenomenal finish!
Fight Night, it looks great and plays great. Of the 20+ games out for the 360 right now it's in the top three. However, the 360 has so much more to offer in the coming years and this is a taste of what's next. It's good but it isn't the pinnacle of next-gen gaming for that reason it doesn't deserve a ten. On the other hand the game is fantastically fun to play. Even if you don't like boxing you still need to try it. The only problems is the career mode is short and the mini games get repetitive. But what mini games aren't repetitive these days? Bottom line pick it up, play it, smile, and look forward to even better 360 gaming.
