It seems this game is a hit or miss amongst users. I personally really enjoyed the story mode and the way it forces you to complete a fight; it makes it feel fresh and it's definitely challenging. My only disappointment with this game is how difficult it seems to actually knock someone down. You can throw heavy punches all day and never see a knock down till the 7th round. The boxing mechanics are awesome though, punches actually get in the way of other punches. The automated blocking is great if you are new to the game and terrible if you are a FN veteran. The game is solid, fun to play but it's not what FN Round 3 was. The replays of the knock downs are sub-par at best. I've only played the story mode, which is good and keeps you wanting more. It's short and sweet. The career mode is nothing new, which is why I never touched it. Great rent, wouldn't buy it though.
The graphics are great. The blood is sweet and the presentation is very pretty. You won't get addicted to the game but you'll enjoy it for about a week or two.
here it is fight night champion, it could not come any sooner...this game has all a boxing fan needs for a long while.. legacy mode is great, you can get sponsors if your fighting good..champion mode is ok good story, but its really dumb how the fights work, like your hand breaks and you only use your left hand. but its different. and the online mode (you have to pay for online if you dont buy new) but when you play this gAme you will want to buy it (i did after getting it thourth gamefly) the inline pass is only 10 bucks or 800 points (for xbox users)but if noting at least rent this game
Finally a boxing game that doesn't allow the button masher to win. I hated fight night round 4 for the simple fact that I could go out and fight someone who threw nothing but right hooks the entire fight and they would win, while I was dancing around the ring trying to emulate what a boxer would do. Fight Night Champion lets you destroy the people that are button mashing, by using strategy and the hit stick to throw a wide variety of punches that you can't throw with just mashing the buttons. The champion mode has an awesome story line to it and fun game play. The online game play is set up so that people aren't hunting for the newbs to slay, or the newbs can't run away from a better fighter, they don't show your fight records until you have already accepted the fight. The legacy mode in the game is put together well, that will provide a high replay value. This is by far the best boxing game out there.
