Fatal Fury Battle Archives Vol. 1 for PlayStation 2 Reviews by Gamers

Main problem with this collection is that most of it simply hasn't aged that well. While it is interesting to see where a good number of SNK fighting characters go their start, playing the first 3 of 4 games in this mini-anthology is kind of painful.

The controls and on-screen actions are fairly out of synch, making them feel like a gimmicked SF2 instead of its own title.

Fatal Fury 3, however, actually offers a number of cool innovations worth checking out.

So, worth a rental for those who are die-hard fighter game enthusiasts.

Being a Fatal Fury fan; I never thought that this would ever happen and I am so glad that it did. Having not just 1 or 2 or even 3 but 4 Fatal Fury games in one package should be a dream come true for FF and SNK fans - and it is (at least I think so).

Sure the first game is really dated and the control is really stiff and the actual game is sloooow; these aspects get better and better each game that is there until you get to the best of the whole collection, "Fatal Fury 3."

Graphics and sound, not to mention the controls and overall gameplay is utterly faithful and that can be a good thing and a bad thing but it's true to the original and that's where it really counts.

Only drawback I can think of is the lack of extras on the disc. But for such a low price and having near Neo-Geo perfect versions of Fatal Fury; it's not really that important (more so when you consider that these at one time where around a few hundred a cartridge).

SNK and 2D fighting fans should consider this one a purchase; I know I do.
