But, in so many good ways. Playing Farcry 2, it left me a little uninterested in the series. Not that FC2 wasn't good, it's just that it didn't grab my attention the way 3 did.
The story in this is good. Not exceptional, but good. The characters are mostly predictable and trite. However, there are a couple of stand-outs. Buck, is an exception. And Vaas, whoever that voice-actor is needs a job in Hollywood because it was amazing.
The gameplay is also very good. Graphics are pristine, and it makes you want to explore every nook and cranny of the islands. Guns kick realistically and the sound is awesome.
Far Cry 3 is without question the best in the series, and a HUGE step in the right direction, from the seemingly endless collectables, to the amazing graphics. There's no reason not to love this game.
Outside of the lengthy and awesome story, Far Cry 3 offers an addicting Multiplayer and extremely fun co-op mode.
Personally, I finished the story and went through the co-op with a couple buddies, I found myself wanting more co-op missions, I didn't want the fun to stop, but there's always the endless Multiplayer fun and going back into the story to try and collect everything and max out your stats.
Games these days are pretty pricey and it makes you wonder if it's worth the 60$ price tag, with Far Cry 3.. There's no wondering, it's definitely worth the 60$, and if you have Gamefly, there is NO reason you shouldn't give this game a try.
PS: Michael Mando's performance and Vaas was the best in ANY game ever created, 10/10 performance and an instant classic villain.
