Excited as I was to play this game, it could not deliver. Everyone giving this game 9s and 10s are fanboys that love to be biased.
First of all the graphics are good, not great but good. I have an HDTV, nothing is really standing out. For the PC, I would venture to say the graphics would be up to par. Gameplay is nice and somewhat fun. Playing on the hardest difficulty level, the people didn't really pose a threat. It wasn't till started hunting the wildlife. At first it was better than the actually story, but until I ran into a tiger, it all went down hill. I loaded 60 AK bullets into this animal and it still manages to kill me each time. How is that any fun?
The story is okay, much better than the last two, but is it really that much of a step up? Yes, it is. This game in the gameplay and graphics department go above what the last game could do, but that is pretty much a given with a #3 in the series. As far as the interface and mechanics...garbage. Driving in this game is unique to its own. If I hit a small rock, my health is drained to the last bar. How realistic right? People flip cars all the time and dont get a scratch. The developers dropped the ball on this game. It had so much potential to be game of the year, but came up short.
This game has been compared to Skyrim as being one in the same, just Far Cry being an FPS. Skyrim blows this game out of the water as far as side quests go and open world. Basically, side quests in this game are mini games. Not really a new side story, it is "go out and complete the task." At least will all other games with side quests, it had a little story to go along with it. The good side of this game, it really does make for a great stand alone in the series. Other than that, it is barely worth a rent. I would recommend a rent before buying. Just so you can feel out the game.

This game has lovely graphics and cool animation for NPCs, but the missions are totally unintuitive, the directions indecipherable, the cutscenes tedious & unskippable, the XP progression bewildering, and the map system seems to have been designed by an autistic Martian. Also, if you hate stealth missions or hate escort missions, this game has you covered.
