I'm generally a pretty picky gamer, so I didn't expect to like this game too much. At first, it sort of reminded me of Dead Island, but it ended up being so much more. I am no expert on video games, I just know what I like and this game blew me away. I just finished the main story line today and i'm truly sad that it's over. Now I get to explore the island and clean up unfinished side quests and find all the loot chests and collectibles. DEFINITELY get this game. The only thing you'll find that you don't like about it is that you don't have enough time to play it.

The story-line was very good, but the online game-play is lacking server capability. Often, I was faced with lag and at times it was hard to even find a decent lobby. Also, I really enjoyed the poker game-play it would be nice to see some online poker games.

"Skyrim with guns" is the tagline but it's pretty fitting, absolutely the best open world shooter ever created, and one of the best open world games ever made. And it's arguably better than Skyrim, since there's really no glitches. A tribute to gamers, lots of fun sidequests with an actual REASON to do them (I'm looking at you, Assassins Creed games), a living world, decent shooting mechanics, a skill tree, great graphics, and a good story. The only potential downside is no competitive multiplayer, but personally, it's nice to see a developer leave that out in favor of developing the single player and co-op portion of the game.

In my opinion, this is the best game of 2012, and shouldn't be missed by any gamer who enjoys shooters and/or open-world games. Certainly worth a rent, but one of few games I'd recommend for purchase without playing.
