Excellent large open world to explore and choose your targets and your fights.
Good weapons. Some not as powerful as they should be, but good in general.
Extremely good AI, including that of wild animals. Very, very good.
Great gameplay, and great replay value thanks to all of the above.
Maps are mediocre, with few and confusing icons, awkward navigation.
Saving is useless. No matter where or when you save, if you die you go to the start of the mission or exploration trek.
Inventory. Of all the weapons you "own", you can carry only 4 with you, and you can only equip 2 of those for quick access via Y button.
Ridiculous mirror-like "art work".
Horrible choice of lettering. HORRIBLE.
Absurdly complicated access to skills, upgrades, and other options.
And the ugly surprise (???): the Sun comes out from the SW, not from the East...
Graphics are good, but the game play is extremely repetitive. The missions in these sandbox type games always get old quick. The game had my attention span for probably two hours. After that it is much of the same. If you like the standard sandbox repetitive quest type games this is for you. If not then you will probably be board after about 2-3 hours. The game play is not up to par with other games either. The shooting feels like Fallout minus the VATS system. Not very crisp.
FarCry 3 is a FPS with RPG qualities. Giving you three tiers of what you would like to master. Heron, focusing more on shooting enemies from a distance. Shark, making you a unstoppable force up close, performing takedowns on multiple enemies. Last but not Least Spider, if you like to take a stealthy approach and take out groups of enemies before they even have the slightest idea, hearing them cower as their team vanishes 1 by 1.
The story is interesting, nice plot, believable bad guy (Who you see within the first 5 minutes), and a beautiful Island just waiting for you to explore.
During my playtime the story took up a good amount of my time. Not to even mention the sidequests you receive after taking over a base. I spent several hours attempting to get through the story, But having to kill a pack of rare sharks with a Bow and Arrow, I just couldn't let up on feeling like a champion.
With that said I have a few negative things to mention. I couldn't help that the game felt easy. Going against the human NPC's got boring after a while. Wasn't as threatening as a Komodo Dragon hissing hiding in the tall grass.
The graphics are good but with the Xbox being as old as it is. The PC is where the real beauty lies in this game.
