Lets start this review by saying first off: This game has nothing to do with Far Cry 1, Far Cry Instincts, or Far Cry Instincts Evolution. It is it's own game entirely. Now, that doesn't mean it doesn't have a lot of similarites with those games. Open map from FC1? Got it. Silenced MP5 from FC1? Got it. Now, besides the story, location, and world in genral, the main differents from FC1 is that Far Cry 2 is an RPG of sorts. It takes place in Africa, during one of its many rebel wars. The gameplay it's self has some minor isseus, wich are most prominent in the multiplayer, but its playable. The graphics are decent. The charecter models are ok, but there's one big problem. Are you wondering about the title of this review right now? Well here it is. A charecter with a normal, white t-shirt on, standing in the middle of the jungle, will BLEND IN. That means, if an enemy is shooting at you on a road, he can just walk into the jungle around it, and you will NEVER FIND HIM UNTILL YOU STEP ON HIS VERY FEET! And trust me, when you are driving to a mission objective, and you get ambushed on a road, and you die because you have no idea where you are getting shot at from, it gets annoying very quickly. However, eventhough you are fighting enemys, who you could sware have cloaking devices, this is actualy a very fun game. The fact that you have store houses all over the place, is awesome. You can just walk in, buy weapons (once you do, thay are there forever, and you don't have to buy them again), load out however you want, and go kill things awesomely. If they had added a co-op mode, this would be the coolest game ever. Even though in terms of RPG-ness, it is nothing compaired to Oblivion, or Skyrim, its still a great game. Give it a rent for sure, and if you like it, BUY IT.
