i never played the first Far Cry, so the title is new for me.
i never expected this game to be as good as it is. i rented this along with Dead Space and i was actually more impressed with this game, though there actually are slight similarities in the controller scheme and map screen (i like Far Cry 2's map better then Dead Space's).
this isnt an easy game to play, though. the enemies arent all that tough, neither is figuring out how to tackle a particular mission, its just that everything you do is rather tedious. now, that doesnt mean that its a bad point, its just that you have to put some effort to get from point A to point B and in between, you get attacked.
theres alot of driving (first person driving, at that) and alot of fighting, and alot of fun. this game definitely has alot to it, and could keep you occupied for hours before you realize it. the map is huge and theres alot of areas to explore and alot of diamonds to find. theres a great assortment of weaponry that you must do missions in order to unlock. ive only ever seen 2 different types of vehicles so far and they both seem to drive exactly the same. the visuals and environment look very good and are all destructible. this game is definitely worth a rental, and probably a buy, unless other more hyped games have grabbed your attention. at least check this out to see if you can handle it.
just make sure you dig that bullet bullet out of your arm before you die.
