This is the first game i have played since my return to console gaming. I watch Family Guy every Sunday and when i found out that there was a game, i immediately had to get my hands on it.
And picking this game was an excellent choice for my return. It is an excellent game! The game is easy to pick up and the controls are good. Later in the game it gets more challenging and more is expected out of you to reach your goal. A veteran gamer should not have a problem with this, but a beginner may find themselves slamming the controller on the floor wondering why a cartoon game is so hard!
The game is straight forward with minimal secrets to be hunted out. This is a good thing because some games are so packed with secrets that you end up searching for those and get off the original path or story of the game.
You play as Stewie, Brian, and Peter. Each character has their own goal and playing style. You end up jumping back and forth between the chracters as each gets closer to their goal.
Being familiar with the cartoon helps to enjoy the game as there are many reference to the tv series. Those who are die-hard fans will love this game down to the little cut-in side clips which make appearances as little mini games. Those who are less familiar may find it hard to relate to the gags and story.
The reason why i gave the game a 7 instead of a 10 rating is that I felt that the game had no replay value. Once I had finished the game I had no desire to play it again. Because of this, I woulod not recommend buying this game. Renting is a great option.
Despite this drawback, the game is simple and lovable. I definately recommend playing this game through once.
