First of all, I dont understand why poeple keep complaining that this is just an expansion pack to Fallout 3. It's not. It a new game that resembles F3. F3 was a huge success, so the developers gave us another game true to the original, only with different people and places. How many times have you enjoyed a game, then played a sequel, only to discover that everything you liked had changed? Those same people who are complaining that Vegas is an expansion pack, are the very same ones who would be screaming that the game was not true to its roots, if it were completely different. Go figure! Anyway, I think Bathesda did a great job. Of course, they could have improved the graphics more, and there are some bugs, but those same bugs were present in F3, so no big deal. I love the game just as much as I loved F3, because it keeps all of the stuff that made F3 one of the greatest games ever. Cool weapons, tons of hours of gameplay, more places and quests, etc. As a matter of fact, I wish they could have somehow resurrected the original hero from F3, and put him in this game as well. I hope they continue to do this, with places all over the world, and the franchise continues forever.
Neat idea, but more of an Exspansion rather then a whole new Fallout.
I played thru a few hours, and I don't really see anything "new" or "ground breaking", unless you consider frequent lockups an awesome new addition....
Frequent saves is what you're going to have to do, frequent as in more often then just changing zones or entering/exiting doors. This game locks up constantly and at random times.
Its just silly to emagine the developers saying "we could'nt reproduce these bugs often enough to deal with them prior to launch", when the game locks up so often.
I was'nt able to get the game thru GameFly (rented it at a local video store), but after playing it for a few hours.. and constantly having to restart my PS3 (due to lockups).. I'm done till maybe the developers get off their lazy butts and decide to fix these problems.
I rate the game a 4 though, because if you liked Fallout 3.. you will like Fallout: New Vegas, but you'll prolly think of it as another exspansion too.
