Most of the negative ratings will come from Fallout universe fanboys who were disappointed that this game wasn't much like the PC games. So... here's an unbiased opinion of the game: This is an isometric (top-down) rpg/shooter. You are set in the Fallout (post-apocalyptic western U.S.) world. The missions are pretty straight-forward and usually involve a lot of shooting/killing to get to a boss. You pick up (stims) health, ammo, armor and better weapons along the way. With every level gained through experience you can choose skills that will make you better at something (accuracy, rate of fire, etc). It's technically an RPG because of that, but more of a shooter as there is really only one option for completing a mission; killing everything in your way. The "You Might Like" section is 100% incorrect. This game is NOTHING like ANY of those games listed. This game plays exactly like the Xbox Baldur's Gates or Dungeons and Dragons: Heroes. If you like them, you'll like this. I did.
I am only going to tell you what I didn't like about the game.
I can if understand cuss words they are used to provide flavor for a character but I don't think they were very necessary.
I didn't like the top down view. NOT at all. It irritated me that I was able to extend the range of my ranged weapons but was never able to get off a few shots before the mob could 'see' me due to the camera angle.
I paid for Special Attacks for Curtis and never got them. Maybe its just me but 20 points for a next to useless pet is a waste. Thank god I saved before selecting it.
While holding down the right trigger to target a mob, the B key didn't always change targets (mostly the ones behind me).
