I remember being in high school when bethesda did Oblivion. That game was amazing, I was so enthralled in the story. Fallout 3 is exactly the same thing. The problem is that I don't have time to play these deep games anymore. I just want to warn those that hear great things about this game that the game takes a long time to complete. It's so deep that you get lost playing it, and it's hours later. If you have the time, great. But for those that don't, try something else.
I have to admit that I was indeed very excited for this game, I had been waiting in anticipation for a few months, and it disappointed me only in the slightest. It is definitely a good game, and I can say I am a hardcore gamer, and I do like a challenge, but at the beginning of this game the difficulty curve is slightly absurd. At the first town I began to pickpocket, and not seeing any negative reaction from the townspeople, (except a few "You've been caught Pickpocketing" warnings) I continued to do so. After the first game day in the town, EVERY single person in the town began to attack me! My only defense was a measly pistol with 3 shots. Eventually leading to my repetitious, and frustratingly agonizing deaths. Leading to an eventual restart of the game. (Yes I had to start at the very beginning, truly degrading) In conclusion; excluding a few minor glitches ,many of which are Oblivion-esque mishaps, Fallout 3 is a very good game, and I definitely recommend a rental, if not a buy.
