firsti want to tell people is that i really hate RPG's, but this one forced me to take it out because it wa an rpg in the modern day. it started out slow, but after you get out of vault 101, your life changes for ever. it is hard to find purified water, ammo, and health, but it does makes sense of what would you find after an atomic war? i already have this game for three days and i still don't get tired. the landscape is as big as gta iv liberty city, which means you get to explore a whole lot of stuff. if youre lucky, you get to find a lot of weapons, but you first have to kill a couple of raiders to get what you need. i like the thing with your own house in the town of megaton, because you get to customize it with a whole lot of stuff, like workbenches to make your own weapons, or a labaratory for making medicine. there is so much stuff you can find in fallout 3 that you can never remember what you have at your house in all of your lockers and closets! don't listen to people that gave a low rating for this game because they think the game is too hard because in other games you get to have the best weapon in a game in 10 minutes of playing!as a PS3 gamer, i seriously recommend this game to anyone who likes games being more realistic.
I think this game had alot of potential and believe the hype. I did have fun playing the game but got lost after awhile, once the dad ran away and you were to search for him. I gave the rating a 7, It was fun for the first couple of hours of play, then I got lost and running with no ammo is not fun. It seems its easy to get lost in this game but overall, was ok.
I have to say, when I first saw pictures and video's for Fallout 3, I was a little under whelmed. I thought that the game was just The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion with guns, but I was way off. About ten minutes into the game, you know you're playing some thing like you have never played before. It's a game so different from just every other game you have ever played, yet you can jump right in it and start your life as a survivor of a nuclear war. While the game has some similarities to Oblivion, such as the item management and the way you communicate with NPC's, it's combat system and over tone could not be any more different. The game's gun play is remarkable and revolutionary, helped a lot by the game's V.A.T.S. system. The action is very different than your average shooter, where jumping all over the place won't save you life but strategic cover and aiming will. Another great quality is the level up system. It's very much like the original Fallout's where you are given a set amount of things to level up and then you can specialize in a set perk. There is not a lot more I can say about the game, it set's a new bar for rpg's and games in general. It does so many things and it does them well. If you like rpg's or games in general, it's defiantly worth a rental or a buy, it's just that good.
