A tutorial on the basics would be nice for people new to the game

NO CHANCE

I played this game for a day or two and sent it back.
Yes graphics looks cool, yes there is alot of new features, yes it is a step up comparing to last year ... but
It seems like the major improvement is graphics but not a physics and gameplay. Movement of players looks weird and there is definetly a lack of responce of players you to buttons pressed.
"Be a Pro" is new and cool but why not to make a season be a pro mode where you could develop your player not just a one match.
Online boring and new interactive leagues nothing exciting.
I think it's a big step down.
As to compare with PES 2008 ... NO CHANCE!!!

I dont think this is an improvement to Fifa 07 in terms of gameplay. The accuracy sucks because of which it is a herculean task to score a goal.At first I thought it was the hang over of moving from a PC gamepad to an xbox controller(I bought a 360 recently). But after playing Fifa 07 on the xbox 360(gift from a friend) I believe that it is miles better than Fifa 08. The action is faster in Fifa 07 and you really feel as if your in the game whilst Fifa 08 has a slower gameplay which may make it more realistic, but less entertaining.EA has taken a step back in my opinion with this game (contrary to the gamespot review).

In terms of graphics, Fifa 08 outshines Fifa 07 and that is the only bright spot in otherwise what is a poor follow up to Fifa 07. The players seem to be a lot more crisper in 08 than 07.

Some seasoned players might argue that it is much more realistic but I don't buy that. It is the case similar to when PES5 came out for the PC which was a disaster as far as scoring goals... and the referee wasn't kind either. There was a big debate about it amongst the players.

For people looking to buy this game I suggest they better try it first by renting it.
