I've been playing FIFA 06 for the past 3 days/nights and I am impressed at how EA is making a stride to produce a good soccer game. But it is still not up to par with Konami's Winning 11 series. FIFA 06 tries to create the same game flow as Konami's, but you can see that sometimes the animations are a bit jumpy. Therefore you may not see many differences in how goals are scored. But aside from that, the game itself is one of the best in EA's library. The game contains so many different leagues; from the MLS to the Brazilian League all the way to all 3 levels in the English Leagues. All current players in each teams' roster which adds a great deal of realism to the game. Also there are plenty of authetic stadiums.
Comparing all 3 recent soccer games (2006 WC, FIFA 06 & WE9), WE9 still comes on top. FIFA 06 and 2006 WC are in a tie. 2006 WC beats out FIFA 06 in presentation, BUT FIFA 06 animations is better.
Overall, the game a great rental to play with friends.
