FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup for Xbox 360 Reviews by Gamers

I have always been a fan of soccer games, FIFA particularly. I was exited for this years World Cup edition of FIFA. The World Cup is the single largest one sport event in the world, you would think that EA would take that into consideration when handling a game of this magnitude. Sadly though It is Stripped down and just plain boring. The World Cup happens once every four years so you would think that they would record some fresh commentary since they have 3 years to develop the game. The commentary is repetitive and unoriginal. There is very little enthusiasm in general from the crowd shots (or lack there of), to the goal celebrations. The famous eruption like reaction of players in this sport when a goal is scored is unmatched in real life, but in this game everyone has about 5-10 seconds of running with their hands in the air, and then back to the action. The controls are easy to master and the goalkeepers are usually the reason that goals are scored, usually as a result of their stupidity. I hope EA rights the ship on the next one because I usually tell people to but these games , but this time it is a rental at best.

The game isn't that bad. Game play is a bit sketchy at times. Apparently the new one is better. I found it easy to beat the CPU players but frustrating against other oponents.

I would give it a 5 at best.
