Overall pretty good, let's break down it into categories
Story: The story here is alright. The conclusion makes little to no sense and clearly was unfinished. Also characters not too interesting including Becket who has no voice or personality.
Graphics: Everything looks good with the lighting, creepy environments, and atmosphere. The bland and repetitive corridors of the original are gone. With more variety like a school, destroyed city, and underground lab.
Sound: Good voice acting, weird sound effects and solid sounding guns make it feel real.
Game-play: Fun and functional game-play from shooting to pressing switches. The A.I. is really good and gives a good challenge. Improvements like sprinting and aiming down the sights help make the gun-play better than before. It would be better if the added stealth, but still is better than before here.
Conclusion: Though the story isn't that good, the game-play is great, environment are creepy, and the sound are great. It easily makes me want to play the sequel as soon as possible.
First off let me say, do not avoid this game ( like I did thinking it has Horror or Demon heavy implications). It does have blood and gore, but with an option to tone down if you so choose. It is an excellant shooter game, by far one I enjoyed playing and hated to see come to an end, it has a relatively smooth end, not way too difficult like most. With a wide selection of weapons, some that are creative and cool. I can only think of one downfall, I do not like to play a game without access to a map somehow ( on screen or off ). But the game was designed to keep you moving without getting lost or too far off track. Thank You Game-Fly for a truly enjoyable rent, Billy in Samson
